JINMEN

Marmit was full of mistery. Even now with the internet i cant dig too much about them or find too many photo evidence of theyr figures but they did some trully amazing ones, and one of them is this one: from the Devilman Dynamic Action Figures is Jinmen.

Jinmen came in a big blister just like Winged Devilman and is a trully amazing figure!! He is articulated on his neck, shoulders, legs and tail, wich makes him the most articulated figure of the series (pretty old fashion articulations tough) and can stand on his own by helping himself with his hands.

He is not the tallest character but he is TRULLY HEAVY and pretty spectacular looking. Amarmit actually sculpted every single one of the faces on Jinmen´s shell and painted every single one with different skin tones and each detail prefectly defined. And i am not talking about sculting many faces, i talk about how you can look at the manga and identify every single face from this figure.

Is a totally perfect 3D representation of Go Nagai´s art to a totally different level. True, Akira and Miki and the rest are very accurate, but sculpting and painting every face on this character shows how good was Marmit on his figure crafting, wich is amazing considering this is a toy from the 80s-90s.

The monster himself is very green with different dark washes and yellow veins on his arms and the face sculp is actually pretty cute and cartoony, just like Go Nagai did it; with the big purple smile and the snake tongue cursling arund and the yellow details on his forehead.

I love the Fewture Models Jinmen, but i love soo much this one as well since i like the "alive" faces much more, i find them more frightning and while this figure have the typical quality from the 90s (not too strong plastic, limited articulations) i find him the most outstanding from the entire series.

Thats it until i see Satan, Psycho Genie or Zennon, tough given i barelly see a couple of Marmit figures over the last 20 years, i doubt i can get the rest of the cast and compete my collection. Marmit figures are not as amazing looking as Fewture, but given how rare they are that makes them probablly more valuable tough i doubt i can know more about the subject without going directly to Japan.

JINMEN

The Devilman action figure line by Fewture Models designed by Yasushi Nirasawa was a trully magnifiscent hrror collection of 90s toys. They had great sculpt and painting and a beautyfull design for some gothic looking figures (like Devilman) but it also got a lot of “WTF!!” pieces. Action figures that made you think “how is it possible they do this??” thanks to theyr beauty or grotesque design (or both).

One of them was the 4th figure of the collection, Jinmen. I saw pictures of him and wondered how coul he looks in person, he looked just way too amazing to be real back then and he was extremelly difficult to find!! One of the last of my collection but one of my most favorite ones as well.

Jinmen is HUGE, soo big he comes on a box and not on a blister lie the rest of the series, and thats give him a pretty specialy look. He is thick but pretty light since he is completelly hollow, tough his plastic is not cheap, is pretty high quality with a soft rubish texture.

He have articulated shulders, elbows and wrists soo thers not a lot of poses for him (and his design dowsnt help either) tough he can stand on his own perfectly and dosnt need a base.

Nirasawa design on Jinmen is pretty close to Go Nagai´s original vision, except Nira gives him a biologic realism the character disnt had before. Jinmen skin texture is creepy realistic, with different scales covering different parts of his body and a rocky texture on his shell.

His torso looks almost insectic and the deformed giant claws give him an amazing looks. His head is small and grotesque, full of teeth with a trwisted long tongues made with soft plastic and brigth red eyes that make him looks perfectly retilian.

The pain is as amazing as the sculpt, with each scale and each wrinkle perfectly painted, if the other characters had sloopynes on some areas, this monster have not.

He have corpses covering his body, in the arms and the front and lots of skulls on his shell. The sculpt on this skulls and paint are terrific, full of dramatic shadows and realistic textures and some of this skulls are not even human, something that proobs Jinemn is a cannibal.

The only “alive” face on the shell is Sachiko, who is now a grown woman with half of her face destroyed by Devilman. This also could be Akira´s mother if follow the OVA logic as well, but the sigh is really sad and disturbing given the realism of this sad face surrounded by skulls.

Also, something worth mentioning is the fact theres not a whole lot of Jinmen figures out there and that makes him extra special.

Is easy to look at this figure for hours and keep fining things and details to watch and that make him one ofmy absolut favorits of the Fewture line. Even outside of the Devilman context, this demon can stand proudlly on any collection of horror and the macabre.
