TALISAC

Does "too much" really exist?? For some it dosnt but for most people "too much" is real and it was specially back in last century, even more specially in the toy industry. Poeple was way too worryed Madballs would make kids violent each other or the srping shot weapons of action figures would make them harm each other or themselves. Even He-Man was feared to be just a comercial to sell products to kids (wich it was actually) and then, McFarlane Toys arrive with its products designed for adults: toys based on monsters with some blood splatered around. This made people worry but then, in 2001, they release Tortured Souls.

A brand new series of action figures made by McFarlane Toys and designed by Clive Barker, branded as "the most terrifiying action figures", it cosnststed on a collection of Cenobites - hell´s priests - that participated on a story written by Clive Barker. Each figure came with a chapter of this novel and not only this fused "toys" with "writing", but the characters were EXTREMELLY gory, violent, bloody, they show flesh with no skin, bones, misshaped faces and amputated limbs mixed with a leather fetish.

It was too much. Many toy store refused to sell them and parents were complaining and then, the whole world had its gaze upon McFarlane Toys soo he started releasing his other series based on dragons, miliraty men, Conan, more Monsters....it was am amazing time to be a McFarlane Toys collector, that company means almost everything while other companys were following its lead.

Seven years ago i started hunting this Tortured Souls figures i wasnt able to get as kid and while i got most of them and posted them here in 2020, there was one that i was missing, the rarest one to find in its clamshel and the most delicate of them all but also the most dramatic and terrible one as well; Talisac - The Surgeon of the Sacred Heart.

This figure is actually, pretty difficult to describe. This guy is in the same scale as the other McFarlane figures form back then, smaller than a modern NECA but bigger than a modern Figma, the size is for me totally perfect tough with his.....machine totally asembled he is much bigger. He cant stand on his own soo the only way to display him is hanging from his machine thingy.

This guys is actually a little bit articulated!!! His head rotate as well as his wrists and his left arm also can move up and down, half his thigh can rotate and his ankles too. This dosnt do much tough....the most usefull articulation is the one on his left shoulder that let him rise his arm but the rest of the articulation dont make much difference and the neck one prettu much only gets on the hooks that holds him.

Then agin, the rest of the line and the rest of the figures from back then were not very articulated and were mosre like statues soo this was the standar for back then but still, this is the more static character from the entire line. The sculot is really amazing, the skin have lots of wrinkle skin that hangs from his bones in a very sick way, he deffinetly looks more like a corpse than a living thing, but he is actually alive!! The texture is strikingly real and the expression of pain is very real...i mean, with the way his feet are tense and the way his hands are shaped like claws, its pretty evident this creature is in amazing pain.

The skin color is pale and have a very soft dark wash soo all the wrinkled skin stands out but it looks extremelly natural. Theres a few leather belts here and there: on his neck, on his rigth arm, theres a long belt on his back and something that looks like underwear that cover his ass but leave his front totally nude (this underwear is stitched to his flesh in the front) and theres more belts around his legs and while this are part of the same sculpt as the body, the black paint stands out nicelly in contrast with the pale skin tough the pain job is not perfect and is slopy in some places.

Where the pain job is beyong perfect is on the opening sections: cuts and removal of the skin on his calf, another cut and opening on his rigth knee and another on his left ankle with both his pectorals skin bein removed and hanging while his entire left biceps  have the flesh, again, cut and hanging from the arm like a sleeve. Wath this opening show are raw muscle and an amazing paint job since this sections not only are painted in crimson red, but they looks wet and fresh and the blood dripping around them looks extremelly real.

There is a HUGE scar that start on a hole on his chest and goes down all the way to his pubes where the flesh is opening to reveal an artificual womb. The way the flesh opens for this is amazingly revolting and theres hbig holes that reveals he ahd staples closing this area. Actually the staples are closing the opening on his torso to his chesta dn the way the flesh close in this area and the wrinkles and tension....is just way too much.

His face is very difficult to see because he have hooks pulling out his lips, eye lids, and checks soo theres no face expression here, theres just torn apart flesh and again, the skin is veiny, full of wrinkles and the blood surroinding his eyes and mouth is very realictis but it contrast with the wave of blood coming out from his mouth and the paint job inside the mouth and eye is trully amazing for the scale.

Finally, theres a flap of skin hanging from his head and revealing his bre sckull. This is bone but the redish paint make it looks like is driping of flesh blood. This guy looks more like a corpse in the morgue that suffered a big accident than anything, even the opening on his torso looks like an autopsy.

His artificial womb is transluscent plastic and cab be removed to reveal an huge empty hole carved on Talisac´s groin area and this is also painted realistically in pink and reds to make it looks like fresh meat. McFaralen Toys didnt leave a single corner without attention.

The womb can be opened to reveal the Mongroy, another of the Tortured Souls figures in an state of of grow. The littl creature dosnt looks human at all and shows a thing with his limbs all twisted around and a mouth full of teeth while his skin is all wrinkled around. The little figure is also painted in an uber realictic flesh tone, with some splays of blood here and there and perfectly white fangs. For a figure not meant to be displayed outside of his womb, the amount of detail is amazing.

Talisac is installed in a pretty strange machine that demanded a whole lot of asemble!! The base is dortito shaped and have small whels that actually works soo this man can be moved around by his own personal dwarf nurse that is not included here. The base have spikes, in case the good doctor wants to hop down for any reason, well, he cant do it.....tough this spikes are made of soft plastic and thats a very nice surprise.

Theres this thick main column structure that i had to use hot water to inser of the spiky base that acts as main support of the fogure. Theres another very thin almost wire column that conects on the base and reconects on the top with a little flat conection that is totally useless but it helps to give to this machine a whicked and complicated look.

Theres a third column that actually looks like a dorsal clumn since is sculpted with spikes and little section that makes it looks like bone. This structure is totally made with soft plastic soo it can bends following the main column shape and size and while it conects to the base in the bottom, the top part conects tto two big generators that, at the same times conects with two black soft plastic tubes to Talisac body. For what porpuse? I dont really know, but one tube conects to his leg while the other to his stomach.

Then the metakic structure continues and curves to the left side. In the point of turn theres this weird feather like structure that is articulated and the top of the metal structure contonues in a T shape that stands out of it and at the end if its sides, it have chains that conects back to the main structure. Real chains, no plastic grey chains...this was an era where McFarlane Toys pretty much put everything at risk and they use to have not only soft plastic mixed with hard plastic, but also real metal items.

The end side of the structure have a chain with four extrangelly shaped instruments that it sees they are Dr. Talisac surgical instruments (because, yes......this thing actually is a dosctor and he perform surgeries hanging from this machine). At the center of the structure theres six chains with hooks in the end that holds Talisac in place. While the chains are real, the hooks are plastic and inser them in Talisac small face holes is a HUGE pain in the ass.

Then theres this big metalic hook that hands form the structure with a clip. This big hook enter into Talisac back side and comes out from the hole on his chest and is the real thing that keeps him levitating while the chains only act as support but while it does the job, the tunel on the body is too curved and dosnt let the hook to penetrate entirelly since the hook is also curved soo it only penetrates half the torso.

Lastly, theres a blood bag thathands of a hook the clips on top of the metal structure. This blood bad have soft plastic tubes that also conects with Talisac on the ribs, chest and neck. This tubes are very anoying and get in the way of the arm movement and the blood bag is just painted in red and looks very cheap but with everythign thats going on around it, is imposible to pay attention to it despite the high contrast.

The entire machine is painted in a gun black metal finish, dark grey with some dark wash that gives it a very sofisticated, old and elegant looks that actually does looks like metal while the chains on it (including the h¿ones hanging from Talisac neck )looks almost like jewels in contrast.

This figure is no fun at all. Theres not much to do than just look at it since its almost no articulated and is extremely delicate (over the eyars i seen him docens of times with some broken in some way) and it demands a lot of asembly but the enginering needed for this leave me speechless....i mean, McFarlane did a Manbat that they didndt manage to make stand on his own and yet, they did this?? A figure hanging from hook on a machine conected with tubes and chains?? And the way everythign is sturdy and how the wheels works llave me in awe.

But as beautfull as this is, its also terrifiying. Unlike the other Tortured Souls, Telisac looks more like a victim, hanging with his body totally open and giving birth to a monster. This is one heck of a dramatic and distorbing figure to look at and the more you look, the worse it gets. I am not only amazed McFarlane Toys managed to build something like this, but i am amazed they also had the balls to design and release this. This was Clive Barker at his best and McFarlane didnt back off.

Also, whats going on here? In the novel Talisac is not only a surgen but he manages to build a Frankenstein like creature called Venal Anaomica while hanging from this machine and also it seems he himself put himself there....and he experiment on himself as well soo alll the openings and wounds on his body are made by him and he managed to impregnate himself too....this is too much from both McFarlane and Barker. This was too much in 1002 and is too mich in 2026.

And after soo many years.....theres never has been other figures like this and i got the feeling there will never be again.

MANBAT

After more than 25 years i stil feel fascinated by McFarlane Toys figures from the 90s and begining of the 2000s but at the same time i really dislike wath McFarlane has been doing in the last 15 years. He produced a lot of Witcher figures yet every single one of them was terrible except a single statue of Geralt i review last year and he also produced an ocean of Batmen and DC characters, again some with an extremelly poor quality and some really good ones but the quality is all over the place in the end.

He did one of the best Swamp Thing figures i ever seen if not the single best one tough soo theres some really good jewells on his stock but they are kind of rare. One of the figures  that pick my attention greatly was Mcfarlane version of Manbat. He is part of the "Mega Figure" line along side Swapm Thing and other big characters like Doomsday soo while he came in a huge box, i was kinda dissapointed by his wings but in the end, i toock the chance i got him before he gets super expensive in the secondary market once McFarlane lose the DC licence.

Like i said, this guy comes in a huge box and is really really heavy but thankfully, price was very good and thats the saving greace of MacFarlane Toys now day. He is on scale with everything else of the brand soo this make him in perfect scale with NECA or Storm figures but given how beastly he is, he is for sure much bigger than those characters. He is actually bigger than Goliath and all the other Gargoyles but he is endeed shorter than the Swamp Thing (just to have in perspective how epic gigantic and imposing is Alec Holland).

This bad boy is articulate don the head, shoulders, elbows, chest, waist, legs, knees, ankles and half feet. The head articulation is really fantastic because he have a long peg with two ball joints in each side, conecting with his shoulders and head soo the head can move at the sides with complete freedom, up and down too and the fur piece on his neck that covers the peg is made of soft plastic. The shoulders have giant ball joints as well as the elbows soo the only thing that blocks the movement are his wings.

Chest and waist ball joints have a huge range of movement and while the legs can rotate only a little bit, they cna split and move front and back pretty nicelly. Theres double joint on the knees soo they can bend pretty good and he have not one, but TWO articulations on the ankles: one that let his feet rotate and a ball joint that makes his feet pivot.

Wath does this mean? I cant stand on his own at all. I mean, he can technically stand but once you find the perfect balance of weight in the front and the back and even then, its imposible to know for how long this is gonna last....i mean the torso is huge and really heave and the ankles joints are very very lose soo this is to be expected, is logic, is noting but BAD ENGINERING.......

He comes with a tiny mini stand with a peg that conects with any of his feet. The stand is soo crazy generic every single MacFarlane figues has it: a thin circular completelly black with the DC logo on it. Is completely useles. It dosnt help balance at all and it dosnt help make his falls lighter. Is a completelly waste of plastic...

Anyway, i only have another Manbat on my collection and that is the one from Batman The Animated Series that belongs to one of my favorite chapters, "On Leather Wings". This one tough is based on the design of the New 52 comics soo is very different and is more like a Hulk with wings. This version looks like a body builder werewolf with wings, very beastly, extremelly sexy as well and imposing while the animated one looks much more lean and athletic. This version have HUGE biceps and arms in general wich makes sense because you need wings of steel to keep such a beast in the air and makes wonder wath kind of wings he could have.

This is the thing, McFarlane Toys made his wings closed completelly. I knwo this figure is already big but this is such a huge wasted chance to make a trully amazing figure, give him a pair of extra open wings just like DC Direct did with this same character, wings made of rea fabric or even paper or something....having such an amazing design with the wings always closed is soo depressing....

Aside of the wings thing, the sculpt here is amazing. The texture of the muscles is very realistic and theres veings everywhere and little realistic details, like the nipples. The hair parts ofn the shoulders and neck are made with soft plastic and the hair sculpt is very sharp and well defined. The closed wings are also amde of soft plastic and they are divided with most of them coming from Manbat´s hands and a smaller section coming out from his biceps, this way the elbows can still bend and move and the gap between this two sections is very easy to hide.

The head sculot is really really good, with the tiny eyes and almost non-existant nose and the huge ears and mouth full of fangs, tough one of the fangs is thicker and bigger than the other. I tough this was a mistake on y figure but i seen photos and videos other people pointing the same soo i think this is intentional but i dont know waths the story behind it (maybe he broke one of his fangs???). The broken jeans have also a very good texture on them and while the legs seems small comapred to his torso, they are pretty well build too but kind of pre-posed soo he can stand up righ at all since the knees are sculpted bending (logic would tell us this was to make him stand him easyer but it dosnt help at all his balance).

Paint is less interesting tough. The hair in the shoulders, neck and forearms is painted in a dark brown with some black wash to make it stand and it works very well because it even looks a little shiny but pretty much everything else is painted in a softer brown and thats it. Theres no shades or shadows or a wash, nothing....just brown and that makes it looks almost like cell shading clean. I mean, the wings SHOULD be a different color on each side but they are just the same brown as the rest of the body.

Even the jeans are just blue and nothing else...no stains, dirt or anything else, just plain blue. The inside of the mouth is purple and stands our pretty good with all that brown and the inside of the hear is purple too tough i wish the transition between purple and brown could be better. The fangs...i am not sure if they are brown as well but they looks suspiciouslly like the skin tone but the eyes looks terrific!! The black surrounding the red puplis makes them sttand out perfectly and looks really demonic.

And since this is McFarlane, theres no accesorys beyond the waste of plastic that is the base and a card featuring a very good looking art in the front and the basic info of the character in the back. The card is a nice detail, like always, but i wish they added a closed mouth extra head (or gives him ana rticulated jaw!!!) or some open hands....its soo tiring to have his hands always on a fist.

This figure is nothing but contrast....it looks amazing on the shelve with a horror collection or a DC display, y beastly, sexy and well articulated and have an impresive size and presence, but the paint could be better, the balance needs to be better, the extras dont exist at all....soo this Manbat feels soo perfect yet soo incomplete. Its such a werid feeling.

Even soo i am happy i got him, despitr the headache that represents make him stand, this is one of the best McFarlane Toys has done in many years and looks perfect along side Zood or the Great Wolves and the Furay Planet figures.

NIGHTMARE BAT

Now than ever is pretty odd to find a toy of figure that feels unexpected because most of the industry stick with DC, Marvel, Star Wars and even inside those series they stick to the main characters. Its pretty ODD too that some originality comes from McFarlane Toys since the only thing that has beenproducing in the last 10 years is a countless army of Batman. But somehow in between that army of same-ish theres a few sparks of originality at times.

Last century the Batman Forever had a deleted scene that pick the attention of fans all over the world, the scene had Bruce Wayne in a dream like sequence meeting face to face with a gigantic bat that acted like some kind of inspration for his Batman persona. Part of The Riddler mind games, this scene that included a giant bat animatronic wasnt present on the movie at all but in an attacj of originality, McFarlane Toys decided to includes this "Nightamer Bat" into theyr Batman Forever line.

This is a Build-A-Figure soo it was divided into four parts, each inside the box of each character of the line soo this guy dont have a bx of his own and in order to get it you need to collect all other figures. This was something that happened a lot at the 90s and 2000s but is not veyr common to see it now.

This guy have the size of a standar McFarlane figures but given his body shape he is more "round" than usual and plus the wings....those HUGE wings make this figure looks colossal!!! And of course, it cant stand on hiw own soo it have a black round base with the DC logo in front and a metalic rod that inserts on it in the bottom and on the top it have a ball joint that goes in a hole on the bat chests.

Is not easy to insert the bat but ince in top of the metal rod the base makes a very good job keeping it o the fly and the ball joint let the figure moves to the front, back and sides in a big range of motion. This bat have ball joints on the shoulders and head an have an artoculated jaw.

The head dosnt move too much thanks to the fur of the neck but the mouth opens nicelly and the wings also have a big range of motion in angle or to the front, back, up or down. The membrane stop the movement but the range of motion is still pretty considerable and while is the shame the membrane dont conect to the body, the movility is really worth the big gap between the wings and body.

Andjust the anlge of each wings, the head and the body and you can have this big boy fliying in a very spectacular way and despite the low number of articulations, the display options is almost endles!!!

The sculpt is really really good! The fur have a very sharp sculpt and follows the body structure and msuculature nicelly in a very realistic way and it also fades with the vreature legs and arms in a natural way and changuing into a skin texture with wrinkles and veins. The membrane of the wings have a lot of veins and have a leather like texture pretty similar to NECA´s Gargoyles figures.

The ears are sharp and very deep and the sculpt of each small fangs looks really good as well as his realistic odd shaped nose soo this is McFarlane Toys at its best. The paint tough, its OK but not outstanding since the body is ony painted in plain brown and dosnt have anything that accentuates anything except in the facem where the brown is softer to give the impression of shorter hair.

The red of the eyes and the inside of the mouth stand out a lot and the yellow of the fangs looks good while the inside of the ears have a pink paint with purple wash to make the shadows of theyr ear shape much more natural. The wings have also a mix of pink and pruple and soft brown that makes the leather texture and veins stand out and while this section is brigther, it matches the color palette of the body perfectly.

Overall, the paint job on the face, legs, wings and ears is fantastic but the brown fur of the body is specially simple and with some shadows and shades this figure would looks trully amazing!!! Tough is not like it dosnt looks amazing already.

Really, i am not very fond on McFarlane Toys anymore but once in a blue moon they release somethign that stands out by quality or just by originality because, this goes beyond of a creature from a deleted Batman scene, this figure can stand proudlly like somethign related to Dracula or pretty much fit into any horror themed collection, or even outside of a collection, this big boy can work as a ornament on pretty much any corner of any room and given the movility he have, he is going to looks fantastic all the time.

GERALT OF RIVIA

The Saga of Geralt of Rivia, a series of sword and sorcery novels that trully builds on a completelly original vision of the medieval times, pawned a fantastic game long time ago called The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt and sparked a series of comics, board games, merchadise and finally an awfull Netflix series that had buried the brand in the worst way. Sure, a new game is coming but something tells me it wont be able to fill the shoes of The Wicther 3.

The videogame spawned a big collection of Dark Horse statues based on the characters but later on McFarlane Toys got the licence and released a pretty awfull and cheap looking action figures that looked....just.....nothing like a McFarlane Toys figure. Things got even much worse when they started release figures based on the Netflix show, they Henrry Cavill sculpt was a grotesque atrocity that didnt lasted long since the series also saw a huge fall in popularity.

But there was a single item i really like from the McFarlane Toys line, a 12" statue of Geralt that reminds me the old big size Tortured Souls or Spawn figures from the 90s. A piece i surelly could not resist when i saw it. Like i said this statue is huge and have a pretty strong presence in the shelves since each details stand out in all its glory.

It can stand on its own perfectly but just to be extra safe it comes with a huge circular black base with a pin that can be inserted in Geralt feet. The base is black with the logo of the game and nothing more. Its pretty elegant, looks good and do the job perfectly fine tough it takes a little bit of space.

Like i said, this reminds me a lot of the old McFarlane Toys figures feelt and that includes the articulations, soo while this is a statue, it have pretty limited articulation. The shoulders can move up and down a little bit and the left glvoe can rotate soo the position of the sword can be adjusted. The swords on his back can rotate as well and his thigh can rotate a little bit t adjust his feet but not too much. This is way too much for a statue really.

The sculpt is really really good. Entirelly based on the game design and by default, the original novels, this shows Geralt on all his glory. The wrinkles on his forehead, the scars on his ehe and nose, the thin lips, the beard, everything is sculpted in a pretty subtle and realistc way and the beard really surprise me because they usually dont know how to sculpt a beard at all, but here it looks perfect.

The strands of hair are really well defined and his armor not only have the seams sculpted but also cuts and other prints of heavy use as well. The lower half of his shirt have a leather texture and his pants and sleeves looks like soft cotton. The chains mails design looks really good as well and all the belts, the shoulder pads and the hook on the front of his waist are made with soft plastic despite replicating the same textures.

His left hand is actually made of soft plastic, soo the fingers can be open to place any of the two swords on it and this was a huge and very positive surprise for me since most of the time they leave the hands in hard plastic, makinf the sword changue a nightmare, His rigth hand holds four harpy heads tied with a thick rope. This peice is also amde with soft plastic tough the only sections that felt actually soft are the hair.

The wrinkles, the huge teeth and tongue, the rope moving bwteeen mouths and in between the hair, this section is pretty gruesome and helps for Geralt to stand out more like the monster hunter he is.

Sadly, i have issues with the paint. Each section is cast in the dominant color of the peice soo the brown and blue of his top armor looks pretty clean as well as the different browns on his pants and qhote on his sleeves. The belts around him also looks pretty clean but thats the biggest issue here....theres no shadows, no wash, no signs of wear, everything looks supernatural clean to the point it almost looks cell shading.

Strangelly, his boots actually have a light brown that works perfectly with the texture used on them and make them looks like rino skin, pretty cool and natural, but pretty much this is the only section were texture and color works together.

The hair of the harpys are just black but the skin is a mix of dark green with a dark wash that makes them looks rotte, and while the tongues and gums are red, the eyes and teeth are not painted at all. The chainmail metalic paints isnt perfect either and mix with the brown pretty badly in some sections.

Both the hair and beard tough have a soft blue tones that helps aparts the strands of hair and gives the beard a bushy and natural look and Geralt face paint is really good and natural. The lips are wet. the scars and eyebrows are perfectly painted as well as the eyes with the yellow pupils but theres also a weird.....purple tone at the side of his head that looks really awfull. It covers the neck and ears and the sides of the face. From the sides looks terrible, but from the front this weird paint frames the face very nicelly and make his eyes stand out. Really i dont know wath to think about this....

Aside of his base, the only accesory this statue have are his two swords: one for humans and another made of silver for monsters. The sculpt is very simple and while the normal sword have marks is use and identations in the blade, the silver one for monsters have runes and symbols carved on the blade. But then again, one is silver with black, the other one is silver with brown and nothing more, no marks of use, no blood or mud, no nothing.

Both swords can be fit on his free hand pretty easyand the glvoe can be adjusted to have the sword close to Geralt,s body or away from it or also they cna be fit on the sheath on his back and they fit perfectly there and this way the statue take less space on the shelve.

I really like this figure, i love the scale and the sculpt and the addition of the monster heads and two swords but the paint job really fill me with doubts. The face looks terrific, but the rest is just antinatural clean and looks extremelly cartoony and thats a HUGE dissapointment for something with the McFarlane Toys brand on it. Then again, comapred with the smaller scale action figures, this statue is a piece of art!!

ENDEAVOR

I still remember all the difciultys i had to endure to get the Endeavor Funko Pop, not only he didnt appeare on the back of the box, but people pretty much didnt knew who he was untill i call him "Todoroki´s dad". Later on i also had some troubles getting the Bandai Spirits/Banpresto statue that came not long ago soo overall its pretty rare to see something about Endeavor compared with all the toys and figures all other characters of My Hero Academia have but that is changing slowlly soo the expectations of an Enji Todoroki ation figure were pretty high.

It wasnt S.H.Figuarts or Figma but McFarlane Toys who took the task to finally release a complete action figures serires of all the characters and that included Endeavor and the end result is is deffinetly not perfect but the best part is the low price. He is on scale on pretty much everything McFarlane or NECA has been doing latelly, standar action figure size tough i was expecting him to be a little bit taller...i mean, he is supposed to be a tall guy as far as i remember soo i dont know if he fits with the rest of the heros, but as a stand alone figure his size is pretty confortable.

He have troubles standing for himself and i am not very sure why; the ankles articulation is pretty stuborn tough he comes with a pretty boring and almost useless base: a thin black token with the logo of My Hero Academia and a peg for one of Endeavour feet. Pretty much the same base Swamp Thing have tough since this guy is much smaller and lighter, the base is more realistically usefull....at times, i mean this base is soo lazy its still very tircky to find the rigth spot to stand him.

He is articulated on the neck, shoulders, biceps, elbows, wrists, chest,  legs, knes, ankles and half feet and all the issues of the figure are here: His head can tilt up and down but dosnt move too much at the sides thanks to the beard, and while the shoulders and legs have a great looking ball jointed articulation, the uggly shoulder pads and hiddeous orange skirt block them completelly.

The sections that join the shoulder pads and the neck are a little softish but still if you move the arm up, after a couple of seconds the shoulder pads will make the arm fall again and the hiddeous orange skirt....are made with hard plastic. Overall the material of this figure is really....cheap? Pretty solid plastic that block movement is something i didnt see in soo many years and articulations on the shoulder pad would have been a good idea.

The big shield things on his arms also block a lot of the elbows articulatins and completelly lock the wrists articulations, soo he cant bend his arms too much and only can move his hands in cortcular motion. His biceps articulations are totally static and his chest articulation barelly moves at the sides, i really dont know why. Also the ankles articulations are really sturrbon like i already say.

Overall, for an articulated super hero figure this is extremelly static...you can give him acouple of nice poses but thats it, everything more extreme is totally impossible. Also, this new outfit of him is really ugly, the big armour on the arms, the huge things on the shoulders and the orange skirts thingys...i dont follow the anime because i am too poor to pay for Funimation (because i obvouslly spent that money on toys) but this new design of Endeavor is ugly as hell and the horrible materials makes it even worse.

Despite the ugly outfit, the aesthethis of the figure is really good. The scaly texture on his outfit is really nice as well as the muscle volume and towerish silhouette and they did a fantastic job with his sipky hair, the sculpt is really stylish but the best part by far are the flames.

The mask, beard, shoulder flames and boots are made with translucent orange plastic and looks REALLY FANTASTIC, they catch the lights perfectly and shyne much more than the Bandai Spirits/Banpresto statue. The boots are odd tough since you can see the ball joint inside and the pegs, but the way his legs gradually dissapeare looks really good.

Paint is OK. There is no texture on it and thats good since this is an animated character, soo just strong and base colors tough i wish they add him some shadows to highlight the muscle volum or give a metalic looks to his armour...i dont know, maybe thats ask too much since, like i said this is an anime character.

There is some issues tough, like some of the red lines invading the blue and viceversa and the black line of his mouth dosnt match the sculpt of the mouth, tough the best part are the eyes, those blue eyes are perfectly painted tough the thick material of the flame mask obscure them at certain angles, tough that cannot be helped.

And accesoryes, theres literally nothing here, just a basic figure in the box along side the lame base. The flames on his back can be removed but i am not sure thats considered an accesory. I soo weird theres no extra head shouting or with no flames, or fire balls and fire effcets....or extra hands at all, this is soo incrediblly basic and really insulting considering McFarlane Toys first figures.

I am really happy to finally have an action figure of Endeavor, i been waiting for it for some years already and this guy looks fantatic thanks to the great sculpt and those pretty translucent flames, but the bad quality articulations as well as the completelly lack of accesorys make this guy kinda boring; he is dommed to forever have one closed fist and one open hands to hold something that dosnt exists at all...

The Bandai Spirits/Banpresto statue is superior to this figure on everyhitng but i am not sure i can complaing considering the low price here, but i feel like i am still waiting for another action figure that actually can be posed and played with in combat scenes.
