NINA WILLIAMS

In 1998, the japanese brand Epoch (i wonder wath happened to them??) released the very first action figure line of Tekken, a line that is for now the most complete line as well. This line was also one of the very first figures based on fight game characters, along Street Fighter from Resaurus, and it was extremelly cool display them all together close to the TV and Playstation.

The frst figure was Jin Kazama and the second was the "Silent Assassin" Nina Williams, the poster girl from Tekken. In scale 1/10 and sculpted by Hiroki Hayashi she is a little bit shorter than Jin, and this was one of the best part of this line, but unlike Jin, Nina can stand on her own at all thanks to her high heels.

Just like Jin, she is in her battle ready pose, looking to the rigth and the silhouette match perfectly to the character model of the game. I specially like her muscle arms and how her boobs are not huge like with the Kotobukiya. Her anatomy is actually very realistic.

The sculpt is good just like with Jin, tough sculpting her hair and other clothe sections could give her a more 3D look, her face is still pretty considering her size. She is articulated on the neck, shoulders and legs, wich gives her an extremelly basic movement range and makes her almost a statue.

The paint is good, specially on her face, she got really fine details on her blue eyes and lips and i like a lot how her hair is not yellow, but metalic golden. Another detail i like is the pink paint on her fingernails and division between her fingers.

The black paint on her outfit is not that good tough since some black invades her skin sadly and theres no shades or texture on it. But my favorite part is her outfit, she is not using that ridiculous and wacky purple sadomasochistic outfit, but a very casual and cool costume with high heels, leather pants, a top and a red leopard vest. The fashion for Tekken was very different back then.

Unlike Jin, she is actually loeaded with accesoryes wich is pretty weird. Aside of her very basic and important base with the Tekken 3 logo (she cant stand without it) she comes with an extra arm with a hand to hold accesoryes. This arm is actually very difficult to change and only exchanged it twice since i fear the peg could broke any moment.

She also have a pistol and two silver kinfes, all this weapons can be hold with her extra arm and it makes sence since she is an assassin, she actually looks good holding them but is weird because in the game she never use such weapons...

And just like Jin, this is the only Nina action figure to date, and pretty much the only one dressed like a normal woman as well. The next figure in the like was Paul Phoenix but sadly, i didnt get him.

NINA WILLIAMS

When i think on Tekken and female characters, the very first image i have is surelly Nina Williams. She was the poster girl for Tekken, she was there from the very begining along side Michelle Chang, but unlike Michelle, Nina continue her career on Tekken, soo she was the very first option for a Bishoujo statue from Kotobukiya.

It took them a while tough to make her statue and Shunya Yamashita even redraw her illustration of Nina to give her a more dynamic pose. The result was a much more faithfull image compared to Nina´s original design and the illustration can be seen on the awesome round base that comes with the figure.

Nina is really beautifull, with a very young looking face like all Shunya Yamashita girls use to have (just like Jun), with silverish pink lips and strans of her hair moving around her face, this figure have a great sence of movement compared to Jun and JayCee.

Her costume is not my favorite but is the most used on the game: a weird mix between combat gear and containment fetish, very tigth and with lots of leather belts with no usefullnes all around her body. Really this makes me wonder how she put that outfit in the morning? Does someone help her dress?

The paint is clean cut, a mix of blue and purple that matchs really good to her blond hair and is really intense and vibrant, really cartoony or "anime".

The pose tough...that pose....while JayCee and Jun had a totally discrete and normal pose, Nina´s pose is hard to belive. She is jumping on one leg and turning her upper half around with her hands readdy to figth. I dunno...is amazing how she have her ass up while keeping the balance and how she can twist her spine....this must be really painfull.

And that pain kinda crash with her peacefull face expresion. Is pretty evident this pose was designed to highlight every asset of her body but this is one of the most extreme examples i ever seen on unatural body motion.

And despite this she really shines along her sister Anna.
