GRIFFITH
When Good Smile Company released theyr Berserk Figma action figures years ago i missed them, i wasnt interested in such small figures and later on i really regret it, since this are one of the best articulated figures from Berserk tough it was almost too late, untill recent years, when Good Smile started to re-release the figures with a new paint.
Excent for one, Griffith, he is not an upgrade ovr the first Griffith tough is not too bad considering how solid he was back then, now day he stands pretty well. I am not a fan of Griffith actually, and i just got him because...well...is Berserk!!! I didnt wanted to regret twice!!
He is taller than Casca but smaller than Guts, pretty much in the middle and can stand very good on his own tough the standar Figma base is always welcome. He is articulated on the head, neck, wrist, shoulders, elbows, wrists, legs, knees and ankles and almost all articulations work perfectly except for his head. The range of movement of his head is pretty limited thank to his long hair. I was expecting hair articulation but he dosnt have any, soo theres not too much to do in that section.
He is...pretty, really pretty, much more prettyer than Casca, with the standar soft texture on his skin, rose pink lips and beautifully painted blue piercing eyes with long eye lashes. Figma did a really good job at him as expected, he looks really angelic compared with Guts.
His hair... well, it gets on the way constantly thanks to the long strands on the sides and his mane on the back, the strands just looks...stiff and akward, i wish Figma added extra articulations on them but i guess thats too much to ask.
His armour is excelent, really shines like metal and is composed of multiple layers and tiny pieces soo Giffirth can move with total freedom. Is amazing how good looking and meticulosully detailed are this armours for such a small scale. He also have his cape wich fits with a peg on his back, the upper collar is plastic, the rest is fabric.
I dont know wath to think about the cape tough....the difference of material stands out a lot and while the cape is pure white, looks like a pearl and kinda flows, it makes it looks kinda cheap....almost like the Black Swordman Guts ALMOST because Griffith cape flows much better. Also the plastic part dosnt rest on his shoulders at all and that is...just weird looking. Also, he cape and the base are not compatible at all, but thats to be expected at all.
His accesoryes are a bunch of hands for different gestures, his helmeth and his sword. The hands are really good looking and give me the feel of a skeleton hand, but they can been exchanged pretty easy and have a big range of motion. The helmeth actually have an extra head/face that can be placed on the figure, a mad and fierce Griffith....that looks 90% the same except he is looking at one side.
This head part can be removed to leave the helmeth totally empty soo Griffith can hold it on his hand. This is a really nice touch and adds a lot of personality to the display. His sword is actually a rapier, a very delicate and light one that can fit perfectly on his scabbard and his hand. The base of the sword must be removed to introduce the hand thanks to the intrincate sculpt, but doing it is easy.
Overall, this is an extremelly good looking Griffith with very exquisite detaild, tough the cape really broke the ilusion as well as the head articulation and hair. Change the head is actually really tricky thanks to the damn hair and i fear i may broke him in any moment. He feels specially delicate from between all other Figmas but hes a pivotal character that complements the display of any of the other figures of the serires (specially Femto).
