RYU

While Street Fighter V was a half dissapointing experience for me (one i still dont experience to the fullest if i dont spent 80$ extra), i dont regret getting the special edition at the low price i got it. The mini artbook was cute and the download content was crap, but the best part was by far the Ryu statue that serve as the cover of the box.

After seen the HORRIBLE figures from Marvel vs Capcom Infinity, this Ryu is an incrediblle piece of art. He is tall, really tall and heavy but his big feet make him stand perfectly even without his base. He comes divided into 5 pieces inside the box: his torso, his legs, the feet and the base and all this pieces fit with no problem.

The material used for Ryu is really impresive, kinda soft but extremelly sturdy, heavy enough to not make it looks cheap and yet soft enough to give him a realistic skin texture and keep the fabric texture on his costume. I guess is a combination of paint and material, but his skin looks incrediblly realistic, you can even see the veins on his feet…

The paint is fantastic as well, even if Ryu is extremelly simplistic on design, the paint is full of details. His costume have different washes of soft grey, purple and yellow, wich makes it looks worm and old and his skin also have some purple shadows and details that make him looks like a 3D oil painting, pretty close to the visual design of the game itself.

The pose is extremelly manly and a perfect match of the cover of the game, with Ryu standing menacing like a tower of muscles against the wind that moves his costume. The only bad thing about the pose is the fact his big gloved hands cover his face in most angles. Is a little difficult to see the details on his face but i guess that cant be avoided.

Also, his bandana is made with soft plastic but it keeps wraping around his body most of the time and makes me wish it keep on a more dynamic flow following the wind. Then again, this is a pretty small issue and dosnt cover the fact this is a trully impresive piece.

After getting soo many special editions with figures inside, i can say the Assassins Creed figures are the most impresive, but this Ryu manages to stand on theyr same league and even surpass them thanks to his huge size.

It was a matter of choice in here: get the SFV normal edition with this figure or the Arcade Edition with all DLC characters unlocked. To be honest, i prefer this one much better.
