ZENOTIC AMON

The Devilman - More Than Demon series of Fewture Models had nine amazing figures already released when it comes to a close to the last one and it leave me half dissapointed. After having such important characters like Satan or Miki made figures or more obscure ones like Welvath and Zan, ist was strange to end the series with a re-design of an already existing character: Amon.

It was at this point when the series started to feel a little bit like Batman or Spawn, with millions of versions of the same character while other important characters, like Kain, Texsch, Odom… were waiting in line.

Then again, its hard to feel dissapointed with a figure like this since once in person, Zenotic Amon is a really beautyfull piece.

Coming in the standar size of the other demons, Zenotic Amon have the wings on his head reduced and reshaped to looks more like horns. His golden eyes are each one of the sculpted and painted fangs on his devil mouth are a threat for the eyes. He even have a purple tongue and jaw articulation.

His body is a mix of shining withe and regal purple and is covered on a geometrical armour that looks like scales. His back is specially amazing and looks like the back of a dinosaur or a dragon. All this scales are individually divided with light blue and painted with metalic purple, wich gives him the looks of a snake or a fish.

His hands have some fur and i am in awe to see all the sculpted wrinkles on his amazing clawed fingers. One of his hand have blood spalttered on it as well as the skull ring Amon had on the first series. This gives me the impresion this is an Amon evolution or second form (like Goku Super Saiyan) and creates a small narrative bridge that jouns the begining of series one with the end of series two.

His wings have a pretty unique and hard to descrive design, tough they have no paint on them, they can be removed. But the best detail is deffinetly his super long tail. This tail have two sharp claws on the end and a gross and terrifiying mouth with fangs at the center. It looks like the second mouth of a Xenomorph.

Zenotic Amon is super articulated, with his movable jaw, shoulders, arms, elbows, wrists, legs, knees and ankles as well as his wings that can be closed. His tail is not articulated sadly, wich is tragic given how long it is and how it gets on the way soo easy.

He comes with the coung base with his name but sadly, this base dosnt help him at all. Thanks to the big amount of articulations on his legs and how thing this are and how heavy are his wings, he keep falling over and over again and not even his tail help him (i think it sorta adds to his lack of balance). I had to use a Play Arts Kai base to make him stand but like with Genie, it wasnt easy fit the base between his huge wings and anoying tail.

I am still a little sad we didnt had a new character to close the second series, but Zenotic Amon is too much of a solid figure to not like him, even with his lack of balance he is one of the most evil looking toys i ever seen, with a complex and very stylish sculpt and a beautyfull metalic painting, he is the very best deffinition of demonic elegance and can fit perfectly on any collection of horror figures.
