SALLY

The Nightmare Before Christmas action figure series from NECA was my very first aproach to the toy company and while Vampire Jack was the piece that started this reviews, the very first figure i got was Sally from Series 1.

I remember how shocked i was back then with this figure, not only the clamshell looked classy and eye catching, but the Sally herself is really superb. She is tall, real tall, like a head above a standar human figure wich makes since since she is a creature made with limbs from corpses, she is the Frankesntein Monster form Burton, or Flinkenstein Monster??... this makes me wonder is she is also super strong but it would not be a surprise. She is cast in a semi transparent blue plastic wich gives her a very good looking iridescense and every stich on her is both culpted and painted perfectly.

Her face have the perfect shape to be pretty and dosnt have those horrible bug eyes of the Diamond Select figures. Her smile is soft but very expresive and is totally articulated in the head, shoulders, biceps, elbows, wrists, waist, legs, knees and the ankle and all this articulations works really fantastic since she have much more muscle mass than Jack, she dosnt strugle to keep the poses.

Also, her entire dress is a separate piece made with soft ruberish plastic, soo you can move around her as much as you can and the dress dosnt get in the way and always goes back to its original shape. Her hair is also made with the same material, soo her head can rotate and the hair dosnt stop the movement. Totally oposite to Diamond Select...

The colors are really vibrant and crisp, maybe is due to the plastic they use but this looks like an "Ultimae Sally" and i cant see how elese can i ask for her. Oh! doe to her small feet, she cant stand on her own of course, soo she comes with a small and discret token black base that keep her in balance perfectly.

She posses also an absurd amount of accesoryes!! Is like her blister is endles and keep producing more and more accesoryes!! She have her bascket with Jacks´s lucnh inside: a bony fish, a green bottle with wine and two smaller bottles with salt and peper, also a handkerchief to cover them.

Every item is 100% accurate to the seen on the movie and but the bottom of the bascket and the handkerchief are shaped soo the items can fit together in certain way tigthly tough getting them rigth is quiet a puzzle, back a decade ago i still remember the configuration to place them on the bascket but not anymore.

She also have the bottle of Deadly Night Shade she use to put to sleep Dr. Flinkenstein as well as the spoon with holes she use to trick them. The bottle have a great Burton´esque texture and is only missing the open lid, and also the spoon...the spoon!!!! The spoon fit on her hand perfectly and the tiny holes are just perfect!!!

She also have a cat in a box toy thingy and my favorite one: the Halloween´s town cat. That elegant and shadowy creature looks as slick as in the movie, with his green brigth eyes and articulated head, was pretty obvious this figure was perfect for any diorama of the Halloween Town.

Overall, i remember i was extremelly pleased with this Sally and after soo many years, i am still since i cant find a better figure that surprass this one on good looks, articulations or accesoryes.
