CORPSE FAMILY

At the begining of the century, NECA was able to stand out from other toy companies thanks to theyr action figure series from The Nightmare Before Christmas that offered great quality, accesorys and a great price. Sadly, by series 6 it was obvious NECA wasnt able to keep up with it. The first figure of the series was a re-release of the basic Jack Skellington, this time with his desk and chair. The desk and chair were huge and good looking, but this figure was more for the people who didnt get him the first time.

The second figure of the series was the Corpse Family, a pair of two monsters by the price of one; the "corpse mommy" and the "corpse boy". Mommy is actually smaller than i was expecting sinceshe is the same size as the Cyclops and the Devil despite her fat shape. the Boy tough is much more smaller, same size as the Mummy Boy and Bat Kid, perfect scale for this two monsters. Boy can stand on his own but Mommy canot thanks to the odd shape of her feet soo both figures comes with theyr basic black stand.

Both have a very good sculpt and painting. Mommy have this odd muppet like face with very old fashioned transluscent glases and her weird grey hair, her body is fat but really misshaped with an old looking purple dress with flowers. Boy is probablly one of the most disturbing figures of the collection, since his smile full of yellow teeth and his sewn eyes REALLY make him look like a dead body. His body have an unhealty fat shape and just like his mom, the paint on his shirt is perfect.

The color palette of this characters is match each other perfectly and i love how both have some broken parts on theyr shirt and dress and underneat you can see a yellow, weet and disgusting texture like they are rotting inside. Given theyr body shape they dosnt have too many pose options, but still both have articulated neck, shoulders and biceps.

The Boy have a leash coming out from the dog collar on his neck and his Mommy can hold it with her tiny hand. The leash is made of plastic and works perfect with the pait, this and Mommy´s yellow glases are really neat touches.

Sadlly, while both creatures are really good looking, theyr accesorys are really lacking since they only have one present box painted in orange with black cats. This box can be added to the other figures boxes to add to Santa Jack´s stock for chritmas but aside of this, the Corpse Family dosnt have any other accesory to interact with them.

Is nice to have two characters together, tough this pair is kinda small and i wish they also added the Corpse Daddy to complete the familly since NECA never released him.
