LOCK, SHOCK & BARREL

The Nightmare Before Christmas action figure collection from NECA came to an end with series 6, leaving some characters out but still delivering an amazing display with most of the Holloween Town citizens and great accesorys, something we didnt expect from a new company like NECA. Tough there was still some special editions that were not part of the actual serires, like the Vampire Jack or the Pirate Jack from Jim´s Giant Peach and one of those special edition figures was a set with some of the most important characters from the movie: Lock, Shock and Barrel.

This are my favorite characters of the movie (my favorites between my favorites) and were RARE, very rare in my country since i only see them once in my life and the fact they are not included in the back of the card of the normal figures dosnt help. This are also the smallest figures of the collection (tough theyr price wasnt small) toigh they came in a big box instead of a clamshell.

Despite theyr small size theyr sculpt and paint are highly detailed and have no real issue. Theyr colors are brigth and vibrant and theyr clothes have that odd texture like clay figurines, even the bones on Barrel outfit are sculpted, totally the oposite to the misshaped monstruositis Diamond Select release last year.

All three can stand on theyr own perfectly and are articulated on the neck, choulders, wrists and legs tough given theyr small size, theres not a bunch of poses to chose from. Tough Shock have a little bit of problems keeping her balance thanks to her tall hat, is just a matter of move her neck to the front and she stand perfectly.

Barrel have his big blue smile with purple eye bags and he is 100% accurate to the original puppet tough my favorite is deffinetly Lock, with his half smile and tail and horns, for me he is the most striking looking of the group.

They accesorys consist on an item each, Barrel have his orange spiral lolipop, Lock have a big menacing axe and Shock have a bears trap. All of them have a dark stone like texture and while the boys can hold theyr accesorys perfectly, Shock cant to anything really with her brar trap. I wish NECA added a chain to it soo she can drag it.

The other accesorys are theyr mask, the most important of course. Each mask looks perfect and gives makes them looks really misteryous, tough they barelly fit theyr faces, since they are just placed over theyr faces, they keep falling over and over again. Adding clips or pegs would ruin the look but this detail is the only thing that bugs me since the masks are soo small i fear to lost them.

And the last accesory is the biggest item on the pack, the bath tube. This thing is big and all 3 kids fit on it as well as theyr other items. Its pure white with some yellow washes to make it looks used, and all four egs are articulated in both theyr connections and the ankles. This thing really helps the display greatly.

At first i was dissapointed NECA didnt release this important devils and when i saw them, the price throw me away but given how rare they are and how good looking they are despite being soo small makes them worth the price.
