MELTING GUY & SPIDER HAIR MONSTER

NECA´s The Nightmare Before Christmas action figure series wa one of the biggest susprises at the begining of this century and was of the longest runing series of the company (after Alien and Predator), tough by serires 6 they had a serious accesory problem. The first figure was a re-release of Jack while the second figure was two in one feature presenting the Corpse Family. The third figure was again a two in one: the Melting Guy and the Spider Hair Monster.

Melting Guy strongly reminds me old 90s cartoons characters for some reason, with his white perfectly clean suit and his misshaped purple face with big bulguing yellow eyes, the sculpt is really faithfull and the paint is clean tough his suit have some soft grey shades to accentuate his shape, he is articulated on the neck, shoulders, elbows and waist and this articulations works really good. Also he is the same heigth as the Devil, Cyclops and Corpse Mommy, not a very tall creature.

The Spider Hair Monster was the big surprise tough since i find him to be one of the most iconic of Halloween Towns citizens and he is one of my favorits since he is pure Tim Burton juice! Also, in the movie we never see his entire body and we just say small glipses of his shape and this figure was a great chance to understand him.

Fist of all he have no legs at all!! His lofer half is attached to a plank with small wheels soo he just push himself with his arms. This is quiet....disturbing looking, also his skin is really difficult to figure out since he have the texture and color of wood? I am not sure if he is half plant but for some reason he also have nipples. I do love his snake fingers, with theyr small fangs and red shiny eyes and his main head with the black stripes reminds me a lot the Sand Wrom from Beetlejuice!!

Most of the colors is on his red lips and yellow teeth and eyes but overall, while clean and simple, the color looks great. He is articulated on the head, neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and waist (?) and this articulations are ball jointed, soo he have a much more bigger range of movement than the Melting Guy.

This monsters can stand on his own (tough the Spider Hair Monster need both his hands on the floor) soo they dont come with a base and his only accesory is the roadkill turtle. This turtle is really sad to look at tough the sculpt and color are terrofic, with its vibrant green shades, the wheel mark on his body and his pink tongue, this is an accesory exclusive to the Melting Guy.

Overall, the lakc of accesorys is really dissapointing, tough this are small creatures, the fatc they come together adds extra pints and the Spider Hair Monster is an amazing figure soo this makes them my favorites of the serires 6.
